With cracking fishing year-round, safe beaches, great boat ramps and plenty of parks, cafés and attractions close by, there’s heaps to keep the whole crew happy. Add warm winter sunshine, friendly locals and postcard views across to K’gari (Fraser Island), and you’ve got the ideal backdrop for the Hervey Bay Fishing Classic, where great fishing meets great family fun.

The return of the Hervey bay fishing classic is finally here! After years of discussions, meetings, Sweat & Beers, This iconic event is finally back on the calendar and under the banner of Queensland Fishing Classics. This Three-day event will aim to provide a family friendly , fun filled, fishing classic with something install for everyone. With exhibitors onsite, Fishing demonstrators and entertainment for the kids (Big & Small) we are excited to host the Hervey Bay Fishing Classic at its new home for the returning year, the Hervey Bay Sports Club.

Meet Your Host

QFC (Queensland Fishing Classics) was founded in 2023 from the succusses of a competition based in Woodgate Beach – ‘Woodgate Beach Fishing Classic’. Since the start of the WBFC in 2015, The event has grown from strength to strength now selling out year on year, with the town at its capacity. Founder and director Brandon Lindeberg is passionate about the classic fishing events and what it does for the local community. We have a unique approach to how we run the classics with the kids as big focus point at each event!
